LATEST VACATION HOME RESEARCH

The NAR has released its latest research on the attitudes and characteristics of American vacation home buyers. Here are some key insights:

  • 12% of all home purchases in 2007 were vacation properties;
  • The median price for vacation properties declined 2.5 in 2007;
  • The median buying age was 46;
  • 81% of buyers were married couples;
  • One property in five was in  resort area;
  • 22% of buyers travel 1000 miles or more to their vacation home
